I think you must have seen some teams only play their best in knockout game while some teams are not good at them. Rather they play when there is no such pressure as knock-out.
In my opinion, in a non-knockout game, it is like practising on nets ,where there is always next chance. And some players are so good on nets. but in a knock-out game, once you play a bad shot, all your experience and skill becomes of no use. This thinking creates unnecessary pressure on the players.
often the players get confused which shot to opt for so as to gain maximum without taking extra chances and often they are unable to decide quickly and lost their wicket in knock-outs.
Whereas in non-knockout, they know i can take chances as there is always a next opportunity waiting.
